How Insurance Works
At Auburn Dental Care in Auburn, AL we are preferred providers for many different insurances companies.
We understand that dealing with your insurance can be very confusing, even frustrating. We are happy to help. There is a difference between “accepting” a client's insurance and being a preferred provider. We want to be sure that each of our clients gets the best benefit possible from their insurance, so here is a basic description of how it all works.
3 Ways Your Insurance Can Be Filed
- Patient Reimbursement. Your dentist will perform treatments for his/her standard fee. You, the patient will then pay that standard fee upfront. The patient will then send the proper forms to their insurance provider and will then be reimbursed by their provider based on their coverage.
- Insurance is Accepted. Your dentist performs his treatment for his/her standard fee. The office team will then file patients insurance for them. The patient will pay an estimated portion of those fees as well as any remaining balance after the insurance has paid their share based on your coverage.
- Preferred Provider. The dentist performs the treatment for a reduced fee as negotiated and agreed upon by your insurance company. The dental office staff then files the patients insurance for them. The patient will pay an estimated portion of those reduced fees as well as any remaining balance after the insurance has paid their share based on your coverage.
